This guide takes you from a fresh install of LTT Booked to your first confirmed appointment. Plan about 20 minutes, half of which is the one-time Google Calendar setup.
Before you start
- WordPress 6.0 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer.
- HTTPS on your site. With HTTPS, Google sends instant change notifications; without it, changes are checked every 5 minutes.
- Your WordPress time zone set to a city (Settings → General → Timezone), not a fixed offset like UTC−4, so daylight saving time works correctly.
1. Install and activate
- Make a backup of the site.
- Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin, choose the plugin zip and click Install Now.
- Click Activate Plugin. A new Bookings menu appears.
On first activation the plugin creates one staff member, seven sample services and default form fields and emails. Edit or delete them as you like.
2. Set up services and hours
- Open Bookings → Services. For each service set the duration, the break after it (travel or preparation time) and, if you want, a price.
- Open Bookings → Staff & Calendars and set weekly hours for each person, for example
09:00-13:00, 14:00-18:00. Leave a day empty for a day off.
3. Connect Google Calendar
- In Google Cloud Console create a project and enable the Google Calendar API.
- Configure the consent screen, choose External and publish the app. In Testing mode Google revokes access after 7 days.
- Create a Web application client. Use the redirect URI shown in Bookings → Settings → Google Calendar.
- Paste the Client ID and Client secret into that settings tab and save.
- On the staff member’s page click Connect Google Calendar and allow access.
4. Publish the booking page
Create a page, add a Shortcode block with [ltt-booked] and publish it. The plugin remembers this page for the links in emails.
5. Make a test booking
Book a slot yourself. Check the email, look for the “[Pending]” event in Google Calendar, approve it, and then cancel it. If everything arrives, you are ready for real customers.
